Mela Cultural Festival, Oslo, Norway (copyright Ilan Kelman 2009). Ensembles I attempt to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, penny whistle, and an assortment of percussion instruments including kokiriko, spoons, and wind chimes. As I am not a particularly good musician, never having studied outside of school and with minimal natural aptitude, I stay with non-audition groups. They also tend to be the most fun which is the main reason for playing music. In addition to collecting small ensembles to play at parties and to busk, the groups with which I have had tuning and rhythm difficulties include:

Compositions Because I have never fully studied theory, the best that I can do when composing is one line, usually for flute or clarinet, without chords. Nonetheless, I hope that some of these compositions might be of interest, even if they sound a bit thin. Many rhythm players that I know are able to improvize chords after hearing the tune a few times. All tunes are copyright Ilan Kelman. The files are in PDF with sizes 50-500 kb.
